June 27, Chris Piro, Again, and Again Foundation
Born in California’s Central Valley, chef Chris Piro found early inspiration in the region’s agricultural richness and deep ties to the land. Adopted at a young age and later serving in the U.S. Air Force, Piro’s path to the kitchen was anything but conventional. He went on to refine his craft in some of the world’s most celebrated restaurants, including Koks, Kadeau, Staplehouse, Boka, and Please.
Today, he channels his diverse experiences through Again., a mission-driven fine dining pop-up where 100% of ticket proceeds support The Again. Foundation, his nonprofit dedicated to providing financial scholarships for youth in the local foster care system through partnerships with educational organizations and institutions.
Piro’s cooking is rooted in the natural world, often incorporating foraged and locally harvested ingredients. His vibrant, seasonal menus are shaped by the beauty and spontaneity of nature, with an emphasis on flowers and organic forms that mirror what’s found in the wild.
Through Again. and The Again. Foundation, Piro channels his own lived experience in the foster system into a culinary and philanthropic mission that nourishes others while giving back to those walking a similar path.
