ABOUT VIRTUE CIDER FOUNDER GREGORY HALL: As one of the craft beverage industry’s most legendary trailblazers for the past several decades, brewmaster turned cider maker GregHall is well-known for creating some of the most flavor-forward craft drinks ever produced. As brewmaster of Chicago’s iconic Goose Island Beer Company for over 20 years, Greg garnered international acclaim through pioneering bourbon barrel-aged beer and winning 14 consecutive Great American Beer Festival medals during his distinguished tenure. Inspired by local European cider culture, Greg left Goose Island and set off on a transformative two-month pilgrimage to study the craft of French and English farmhouse cider in its truest form. Greg absorbed extensive knowledge and returned to the States to press the Midwest’s best apple varieties and craft farmhouse cider of his own. He purchased a 48-acre farm in Fenville, Michigan, taking advantage of the region's unique terroir, and began experimenting with small batch presses, made from local heirloom fruit and without added sugar. Virtue Cider was born. Since Virtue Cider’s launch, Greg has overseen the brand’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, supporting regional farmers and championing proper farmhouse techniques. Virtue’s award-winning ciders are now enjoyed across the country through direct shipping in 43 states and on-location at Virtue Farm, which contains three Norman French-style cider houses, a full tasting room with charcuterie offerings and other farm-inspired plates, over 200 solar panels, and flora and fauna habitats. His mantra, “Good, Clean, Fun,” is a promise to deliver drinkers exceptional cider
